The University of Adelaide (commonly known as Adelaide University) is a public research university in Adelaide, South Australia. It was founded in 1874 and is the third oldest university in Australia.
The university is a member of the Group of Eight and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The university is also a member of the Sandstone universities, which mainly comprise Australian colonial-era institutions.
