Central Queensland University (CQUniversity or CQU) is a public university in central Queensland.

The Central Queensland University began as the Queensland Institute of Technology (Capricornia) in 1967, and it was renamed Central Queensland University in 1994. In 2008, CQUniversity was formed to acknowledge the university’s expansion outside of the region.

  • Duration: 5 years maximum
Structure

The MBA (Leadership) comprises 11 units: 10 standard and one Capstone.

Each standard unit is designed to take 144 hours to complete, which equates to 12–18 months of full-time study for the entire course.

Entry Requirements

Academic entry requirements:

  • A secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
  • An Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) diploma-level qualification, or
  • Bachelor level qualification study for at least 2 years full-time with a minimum overall GPA 4.0.

English entry requirements:

  • An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each subset; or
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – Requires 550 or better overall & minimum TWE score of 4.5 (Paper Based Test), or 75 or better overall and no score less than 17 (Internet Based Test); or
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) – Requires an overall score of 54 with no sub-score less than 46; or
  • An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components.

This course is a 12 unit program. You are required to complete a total of 8 core units and 4 major units.

Academic entry requirements:

  • A completed Australian Bachelor degree, or higher Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) equivalent qualification with three years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant* business experience; or
  • A minimum of five years relevant* business experience.
  • a secondary qualification (Year 11 or 12, or equivalent), or
  • bachelor level qualification study for at least 2 years full-time with a minimum overall GPA 4.0

English entry requirements:

  • An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 for Reading and Writing and 6.0 for Speaking and Listening; or
  • An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components.
