Nestled in suburban Oatley is this Middle Eastern-inspired café that serves halal breakfast. They feature an array of menu items you’d find at most cafes, but the dishes I was interested in were the ones with a middle eastern flair.

This Hungry Spoon Oatley cafe is on my favorites list. The food and coffee are amazing. It’s so popular that all the tables were occupied; it would have been crowded if not for their large outside area with plenty of seating options!

It was a bit slow to get our food, but they picked up. The servers were super friendly, too! It’s nice that the coffee is from Arthur’s Coffee Roasters.

Reviews for This Cafe

Tripadvisor Reviews

“Great food and friendly service – best of all they accept pets outside

A lovely little cafe with delicious food, in a local suburban location (it has no views or amazing setting). The surrounding suburb however is amazing with Oatley Park (lovely walks and river side swimming), a beautiful walk across to Como on a dedicated path across an old railway bridge.

The staff and food are enough on their own. The prices are reasonable. But best of all is the surrounding area – but you will need to research it as it is a peninsula and the best bits are there to be discovered… Hint – Oatley Point, Oatley Park and Oatley Pies…there are many other great discoveries.”

“Perfect for lunch

This is a great local gem.

It is a nice little cafe and there is plenty of room for social distancing.

There is a good menu for breakfast and lunch and plenty of juices to choose from.

I recommend the chicken schnitzel.

Tastes great, the shoestring chips are crunchy and the salad is excellent.”

“A great cafe with very friendly service. We did however find that the food came out a little slow. Would recommend trying out this cafe.”

“Very friendly service, accomodating when busy as it tends to be popular on weekends. The coffee is pretty good, making an effort to remember your order and making you feel welcome.

Great selection of food from Kanafeh and French Toast for the sweet tooth to Fetta and eggs on toast.”
