AGSM Scholarships
Every year there are over $1.8 million in scholarships to students in the full-time MBA program, and there are a variety of unique scholarship opportunities for those interested.
They offer academic excellence scholarships, women-in-leadership scholars, and military leader/community leadership awards.
Those awards apply to Australian citizens AND international applicants who demonstrate an outstanding commitment or contribution locally or globally.
The Luminis AGSM Wharton Business Innovation Scholarship
The award will cover the entire tuition fee to complete the AGSM Full-Time MBA program, consisting of four terms.
The first two terms will be done at AGSM, and the third term at Wharton on a student exchange (on student exchange). The final term will feature an internship/work placement in the United States.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to Australian citizens or Permanent Residents who enroll in the AGSM Full-Time MBA program and submit an application.
How to Apply
To apply, you have to submit an application for consideration.
There is one recipient per year for this scholarship.
AGSM Global Reach Scholarship
The AGSM Global Reach Scholarship provides outstanding students worldwide the opportunity to study at AGSM’s Full-Time MBA program in Sydney.
Eligibility
These scholarships are available to international MBA applicants who have been offered a place in the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.
How to Apply
There are at least six scholarships available, one for each country. These awards may be given in any admissions round.
Candidates will be automatically considered for this award once they have completed their MBA application.
AGSM Military Scholarship
The AGSM Military Scholarship enables Australian Defense Force members to pursue a world-class business education as they advance in their military career or seek to transition into another career.
Eligibility
Open to Australian residents or permanent residents who are eligible for Australian citizenship.
All applicants who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program are eligible for this scholarship.
How to Apply
Candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship once they have submitted an application for the Full-Time MBA program.
AGSM Wandering Warriors Scholarship
AGSM partners with the Wandering Warriors organization to provide you with a scholarship if you are in the military and want to get an MBA.
Eligibility
Open to Australian citizens or persons holding permanent residency and are eligible for Australian citizenship.
Open to current or former members of the Australian Defense Force (ADF) the Wandering Warriors Education Committee selects.
You can get a scholarship if you are admitted to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.
How to Apply
If you are interested in the Wandering Warriors program and wish to apply for this scholarship, go to the organization’s website immediately and inquire about it.
AGSM Excellence Scholarship
The AGSM Excellence Scholarship is available to MBA candidates with a demonstrated track record of academic and professional excellence who wish to participate in AGSM’s Full-Time MBA program.
Eligibility
This scholarship is available to everyone who has received an offer of admission to AGSM’s Full-Time MBA program.
A minimum of six scholarships are available.
How to Apply
If a candidate has submitted an application for the Full-Time MBA program, they will be immediately considered for this scholarship.
AGSM Leadership Excellence Scholarship
The AGSM Leadership Excellence Scholarship is a world-class business MBA scholarship open to outstanding leaders.
Eligibility
Candidates who have shown outstanding leadership and professional success and received an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program are eligible for this scholarship.
How to Apply
After being accepted to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program, candidates will be immediately considered for this award.
The awards include:
- LGBTI Leadership Award
- Sport Leadership Award
- Entrepreneurial Leadership Award
- Community Leadership Award
AGSM Emerging Female Leaders Scholarship
The AGSM Emerging Female Leaders Scholarship will assist promising female executives in obtaining a top-notch MBA.
Eligibility
The AGSM Full-Time MBA scholarship is available to domestic and international female students in their first five years of employment who have been offered a place at the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.
Minimum of two scholarships is available per year.
How to Apply
After being accepted to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program, applicants will be immediately considered for this scholarship.
AGSM Women In Leadership Scholarship
The AGSM Women in Leadership Scholarship will provide exceptional female leaders the opportunity to earn a world-class MBA.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to women who receive an offer of admission to the AGSM Full-Time MBA program.
Minimum of two scholarships is available per year.
How to Apply
After submitting their AGSM Full-Time MBA application, applicants will be automatically considered for this scholarship.
AGSM Indigenous Leaders Scholarship – Commencing students
The AGSM Indigenous Leaders Scholarship is for an Australian Indigenous student accepted into an eligible AGSM Postgraduate program.
Eligibility
The following scholarships are available to all Australian Indigenous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who have been offered a place at one of the AGSM at UNSW Business School’s programs:
- AGSM Full-Time MBA
- AGSM MBA (Executive)
- AGSM MBAX
- AGSM Master of Management
One recipient will be awarded this scholarship per year.
How to Apply
Candidates for this scholarship must have completed an application for one of the AGSM MBA programs or the AGSM MMGT course.

AGSM Indigenous Leaders Scholarship – Current students
The AGSM Indigenous Leaders Scholarship is intended to assist a student from Australia’s indigenous community who has already started studying in an eligible AGSM Postgraduate program.
Eligibility
The following scholarships are available to all Australian Indigenous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who are currently studying one of the AGSM at UNSW Business School’s programs:
- AGSM Full-Time MBA
- AGSM MBA (Executive)
- AGSM MBAX
- AGSM Master of Management
How to Apply
Candidates for this scholarship must be currently studying at one of the AGSM MBA programs or the AGSM MMGT course.

Joseph Barling Fellowship
The Joseph Barling Fellowship is a scholarship established in memory of the late Joseph Somers Barling’s gift.
This award is meant to improve the image of and increase awareness for graduate engineers by encouraging UNSW engineering students to pursue further study at UNSW in a business- or public administration-related program.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to UNSW Engineering graduates (preference given to Electrical Engineering graduates) who apply and gain admission to one of the following programs:
- AGSM MBA
- Master of Technology Management (MTM);
- Master of Engineering Science (MEngSc) or Master of Engineering Science (Ext) in Engineering and Technical Management
- Manufacturing Engineering & Management
- Master of Engineering or PhD by Research in Manufacturing Engineering & Management
One recipient will be awarded this scholarship per year.

Once you’ve completed any of the qualifying programs’ applications, you’ll be eligible to apply for this scholarship.

AGSM MBA Accommodation Bursaries
The AGSM MBA Accommodation Bursary offers students from outside of Sydney, Australia the opportunity to complete their MBAs at the AGSM Full-Time MBA in Sydney.
Eligibility
This bursary is open to domestic students living outside Sydney, Australia.
A minimum of five bursaries are available per year.
How to Apply
Candidates will be automatically considered for this scholarship after completing their application for the Full-Time MBA program.
The bursary is paid on a bi-weekly basis as a living allowance.
Students who receive a full scholarship are not eligible to apply for this bursary.
CSI AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) Scholarship
The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) provides an AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) scholarship to students who can show commitment, engagement, and leadership in promoting, developing, and contributing to better social effects in business.
These areas can include the public and/or social purpose sectors in the past or as part of a future career path.
Eligibility
The following scholarships are available to students who have received an offer of admission to the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program and are employed in a registered social purpose or social enterprise business.
Students who transfer from the GCSI program to AGSM’s MBAX (Social Impact) program with at least three Social Impact courses remaining are eligible for a scholarship valued at $12,500.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
How to Apply
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must complete an application online on the UNSW Scholarships website.
There are up to three scholarships per year on offer to eligible candidates.
AGSM Alumni Community Leader Scholarship
The AGSM Alumni Community Leader Scholarship is available to applicants for the AGSM MBA (Executive) or AGSM MBAX program who meet the requirements. It will cover the program’s total cost, including EAY residence expenses.
The opportunity to access an executive course with the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is also available to the recipient of this scholarship.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
Applicants must not have received any other funding or financial assistance related to their education from their company or another business.
How to Apply
The AGSM Alumni Community Leader Scholarship is open to people who are both talented and work in the not-for-profit sector. They need to be able to show their work or academic history and they should have strong connections with the community.
Candidates will need to apply for this scholarship via the UNSW scholarships portal, and the finalist for this scholarship will need to be available to attend a formal Interview.
Emeritus Professor Richard Henry AM & Dr. Rachel Oberon Indigenous Advantage MBA (Social Impact) Scholarship
This scholarship is from Emeritus Professor Richard Henry and Dr. Rachel Oberon. It provides money for an Australian Indigenous or Torres Strait Islander student who has been accepted into the AGSM MBA (Social Impact) program.
Eligibility
Scholarships are available to all Australian Indigenous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who are accepted into the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program.
How to Apply
This scholarship is for people who are applying to the AGSM MBAX (Social Impact) program. They can apply once they have done that.

Belgiorno-Nettis Scholarship
The Belgiorno-Nettis Scholarship will open doors for exceptional MBA prospects who would not otherwise be able to attend AGSM at UNSW Business School.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to all domestic Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents (including Humanitarian Visa Holders), and/or New Zealand citizens.
The successful candidate must start postgraduate coursework study or have received an offer of admission to one of the following AGSM @ UNSW Business School programs:
- AGSM MBA (Executive)
- AGSM MBAX
There is one recipient per year for this scholarship.
How to Apply
Once you apply for an AGSM Part-Time MBA program or are a continuing student in an eligible program, you will be able to apply for this scholarship.
Interested candidates are required to submit an UAC Equity Scholarship (ES) application.
Andrew Thyne Reid Scholarship
The Andrew Thyne Reid Scholarship was made possible by the Thyne Reid Foundation, and aims to assist a fantastic executive from the not-for-profit sector who is finishing their AGSM MBA (Executive) program.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to Australian citizens or permanent residents working in the not-for-profit sector, particularly the charitable sector, and have been offered an invitation to join the AGSM MBA (Executive) Stage Two Executive Agenda Year.
How to Apply
Interested candidates must submit an application online through the UNSW Scholarships website.

AGSM Executive MBA (Part-time)
Designed for busy executives, this program offers the chance to gain a world-leading MBA when it suits you and enhances your analytical, strategic, and leadership skills.
This program is for domestic students only.

AGSM MBA (Full-time)
AGSM’s MBA program is ranked 1st in Australia and 79th in the world according to the Financial Times 2021 Global MBA Rankings.
It is also ranked 35th in the world according to the QS 2022 Global MBA Rankings and performed exceptionally well in the areas of Thought Leadership (appearing in the top 7% globally) and Diversity (occurring in the top 5% globally).
